A New Beginning
Amina came to India three years ago, leaving behind everything she had known. She spoke little Hindi, had no contacts, and no income. Like thousands of other refugees, she faced an uncertain future.
Through our Vocational Training programme, Amina was enrolled in a three-month tailoring course. She learned quickly — her instructor noticed her precision and creativity from the very first week.
The Machine That Changed Everything
Thanks to generous donations to our Tailoring Machines for Women fundraiser, Amina had access to a professional sewing machine for the first time. The quality of work she could produce transformed overnight.
Today, Amina runs a small tailoring business from her home, earning enough to support herself and send money back to her family. She has also begun training two younger women in the community.
"Before, I felt invisible. Now I feel like I can build something." — Amina
