Why Refugee Education Matters More Than Ever
Education is the single most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of displacement. Here is why we believe every refugee child deserves a seat in a classroom.

A Child Without School is a Future Stolen
When a family is forced to flee their home, education is often the first casualty. Schools left behind, languages unknown, documents missing — the barriers are immense.
At You & Me Foundation, we believe that a safe classroom is the first step toward healing. Our Hope Refugee School currently serves over 150 children who would otherwise have no access to formal education.
What Happens When We Invest
Studies consistently show that a child who remains in school during displacement is significantly less likely to enter child labour, early marriage, or cycles of poverty. Education provides not just knowledge, but structure, safety, and hope.
Our teachers — many of whom are refugees themselves — understand this intimately. They show up every day not just to teach mathematics or language, but to tell each child: you matter, you belong, you have a future.
